Faceoff Club of Naples helping to launch boys program at Gulfview through US Lacrosse grant

A grant that Faceoff Club of Naples received from US Lacrosse under the latter’s First Stick Program will help get Gulfview Middle School’s new boys intramural lacrosse program up and running.

The grant, valued at $7,000, will provide Faceoff Club of Naples with 20 complete sets of boys lacrosse equipment (plus one set of goalie equipment). Each set includes a stick, custom helmet, arm pads, shoulder pads and gloves.

Faceoff Club of Naples will own the equipment and loan it to Gulfview Middle School. When the middle school program is not in session, the equipment will be used for other FOCON programs.

“We will be working to assist other organizations and parents to fund their own middle school lacrosse teams at other area schools as well,” Faceoff Club of Naples president Mark Klym said. “We hope that the Gulfview Middle School program will serve as a model for other schools to follow and that we will see more middle school programs in the future.”
