COYOTE BIG DAWGGZ 8, LIL’ COYOTES 4
Date: Wednesday, April 18
Location:
Vineyards Community Park
Records: Big Dawggz 6-3; Lil’ Coyotes 4-4
Key players: Big Dawggz — Quinn Hepler (3 goals, 2 assists), Yates Miller (2 goals, 5 saves), James Scanlon (1 goal), Tom Kodak (1 goal), Ryan Shover (1 goal), Aiden Burch (second-half goalie); Lil’ Coyotes — Joe Meyer (3 goals, 8 ground balls), Shaden Shields (12 saves on 20 shots), Corbin Cartwright (1 goal).
Lil’ Coyotes coach Joe Meyer: “The Lil’ Coyotes came out and struck first with a great feed by Marty Sullivan to Joe Meyer on the crease. After the Lil’ Coyotes went up, the Big Dawggz took advantage of many giveaways from the Lil’ Coyotes. With another stellar performance by Quinn Hepler at the face-off X and his 3 goals, the Big Dawggz were able to pull away. However, deep into the game, thanks to amazing goalie play by Shaden Sheilds, the Lil’ Coyotes found themselves down by one going into the fourth. The Big Dawgzz defense shut down Meyer after his hat trick, and the Lil’ Coyotes were unable to find the goal past Corbin Cartwright’s goal late in the third to make up the goals scored by first-half goalie and second-half middie Yates Miller.”

The Lil’ Coyotes’ Joe Meyer, middle, celebrates with teammate Will McKellar after scoring one of his three goals in Wednesday night’s loss to the Big Dawggz during CCLA action at Vineyards Community Park.
