GOLDEN GATE AMERICAN PIRATES 12, GGNLL PHILLIES 8
Date:
Wednesday, April 25
Location: Max Hasse Field
Record: Phillies 3-11-3
Phillies standouts: Julio Rodriguez (1 for 2, 2 RBI); Brandon Garcia (1 for 2, BB, RBI, 2 runs); Ethan Katz (1 for 3, RBI); Trey Wetherill (1 for 3, 2 runs); Mauricio Colon (3.2 IP, 3 K).
Phillies coach Matt Hermanson: “We didn’t come out to play our best game tonight, but the boys were battling back at the end and didn’t give up. Down 12-4 at the top of the last inning, we scored four runs and had bases loaded with the tying run up to bat. I have to give it to them for not giving up. We could’ve won this game, but our errors cost us this one. This is a team of winners when they show up to give 110 percent. They would’ve liked to end the season with a win as we go into the Cope Tournament, but they can all be proud of the way they each have individually improved their own skills on the baseball field this season.”
