For young players who want to hone their basketball or volleyball skills, the Greater Naples YMCA is offering clinics in those sports on Saturday, April 13.

Each clinic will be run by the Y’s experienced coaching staff, with a focus on game fundamentals and skill development.

The clinics are for players age 7 to 14. The basketball clinic — to be held from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. — will emphasize shooting, passing, teamwork, dribbling, defense and scrimmage. The volleyball clinic — to be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. — will focus on developing movement, ball control and basic skills.

Registration is $30 for Y members and $35 for guests.

“The Y’s sports clinics are a great opportunity to introduce these popular sports to young players, and also for more experienced players to improve their skills,” said Richard Tamer, Naples YMCA Sports Director. “In between sports seasons is the perfect time to polish skills and get ready to play for the upcoming one.”

The Greater Naples YMCA is located at 5450 YMCA Road.
